Today I went to a new school here in St. Joseph, the Autism Learning Center. The therapists there were all really welcoming and the set-up they have seems to be loved by the children. The school started in the First Congregational Church’s basement by two families that were in need of local, specialized care for their children and is slowly growing. The need in this area seems to be one that was previously going unserviced which has really stretched the school’s initial plans. Here is a bit on how the children and school are working now.
